Spreading Gratitude on Thanksgiving

This year I have so much to be grateful for. Aside from taking major risks in my career, I have the incredible support of good friends, mentors, and family.

Connie Hamilton is like a sister to me. Having her in my life has been so important in ways I couldn't even begin to express. That gratitude for her kindness and sisterhood has helped through challenging times.

But this post isn't just about saying Thank You because Thanksgiving is this week. This is all about the gratitude that I experience every day for the multitude of things that often go unnoticed or at least unrecognized.

In this new position, I'm committed to sharing my gratitude and appreciation on a regular basis. Although I work hard for what I have, I'm so grateful that I've been afforded the opportunities I have. As I continue to make inroads into changing the educational landscape, I will never lose sight of the incredible supports and small steps along the way.

As the year is winding down, think about who has lifted you up this year and what you have done to lift others up. We must stick together and be the strength for each other to shoulder the incredibly big load of trying to change the world. If we work together, we will undoubtedly be more successful.

So a big Thank you to all the folks I mentioned in the video and to the people in my life who make an impact, regardless of the size every day.
